Kings Park in the Evening

We went kayaking again today, on the Swan River, to Point Walter.
It was really warm and sunny, about 24 degrees and hardly any traffic out there.
We saw a pair of ospreys flying together

Clare picked her canoe as it was pink and it matched her top!!

Coming back, the sandbar had about one inch of water over it, just managed to scrape across, wiggled rather than paddled!

More pictures from AQWA

Baby Saltie

Fish wearing false eye lashes and lipstick?

This weekend we kayaked to Point Walter, a nature reserve on the Swan River. There is also a nice coffee shop with big heaters. This birds eye view from Google maps shows Point Walter which is the spit with the sandbar jutting out. The canoe club is at the other side of the river.
Great fun!

I found this incredible picture here, just want to reassure you (and myself) that Great Whites do not come into the Swan river! This picture shows research scientists in South Africa, using sea kayaks to get closer to the sharks!

A manta ray and shark- have we learnt to dive? No we've been to AQWA! (aquarium of Western Australia) Difficult to get the scale, but the Manta was about the size of a small aeroplane!
Not the best pictures, taken through thick glass, very dark, no flash used, and on a moving pathway!

The boardwalk at the thrombolites

Some pics of chris. I think that camera may be stuck there.
